To treat development issues
 of humanity & to communicate

same to the people, from the people’s understandable perspectives and with accorded respect for their culture, language, nuances and their entire being in such a participatory manner that both the service providers and the beneficiaries have a strong synergy and affinity that will galvanize ownership of development issues and programmes from the process to the product.

Joined together in the mission of charity
To fill an existing gap caused by a wide but bridgeable gulf between development providers and the people, occasioned by disconnected information dissemination due to the non-participatory nature of most development agents and the disempowered citizenry for whom such development projects and services are well intended but poorly communicated. With people’s participation in development policy formulation and implementation, sustainable development is far easily transformed from the literary to the tangibly real and experiential.

our goal

. Experience in multiple approaches at disseminating information on issues of great benefits to the sustainable development of humanity clearly shows that such is better handled in a far more participatory format which is fundamentally people involvement-oriented. Amongst other areas, we specialize in community development using participatory theatre with the use of Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) and Theatre for Development (TFD) approaches to make people have a belonging and transparent acceptance and acceptability of policies and projects that are put in place fundamentally for their welfare and empowerment.

Participatory learning & action

is a community-based approach that encourages people—especially the marginalized—to actively engage in identifying, analyzing, and solving issues that affect their lives. It emphasizes local knowledge, mutual learning, and collective decision-making.

testimonials

Before I joined the CDI Widows Empowerment Scheme, life was very difficult. I lost my husband six years ago and was left alone to care for my three children. I had no stable income, and feeding my family was a daily struggle. Through this programme, I was trained in soap-making and CDI gave me start-up materials to begin my own small business. Today, I not only make and sell soaps, but I also supply them to shops in my area. I can now send my children to school and put food on the table without begging. CDI restored my hope and gave me the courage to believe in myself again. I will forever be grateful." — Mrs. Grace O., Beneficiary, 2024 Cohort
